ABOUT JEFF and SIMON:

Jeff Allen and Simon Osborne, owners of Sea Kayaking Cornwall, are well known for their epic circumnavigations. Between them they have kayaked over 10,000Km experiencing nearly every condition the sea could throw at them. Their amazing knowledge and experience is what makes them unique.

In 2004, Jeff traveled to Japan and with Hadas Feldman made a full circumnavigation of the four main islands of Honshu, Kyushu, Hokkaido and Shikoku, a distance over 6500 kilometers. In 2005, he was a part of the first British team to circumnavigate the remote Antarctic Island of South Georgia, long considered by sea kayakers around the globe as being the K2 of kayaking, also on that expedition were Peter Bray, Nigel Dennis and Hadas Feldman. Jeff is a BCU Level 4 Coach (sea) and BCU 5 Star (sea)

In May 2002, as a promise to his brother who died from cancer, Simon circumnavigated Great Britain to raise money for the Leukemia Research Fund. In 2004, he circumnavigated Ireland for the same cause. Simon is a BCU Coach Level 4 A1*Sea, Coach Level 4 A1 River, Coach Level 3T Canoe, 5* Sea Kayak and ACA advanced open water.

TO REGISTER:

Send an email to the class facilitator, Paula, at [email protected]. Include your ACA #, if applicable, boat description, emergency contact name and phone number.

Paula will tell you where to mail your check and will keep the registration list and a waiting list. Paula will only hold your slot when she receives your check made out to NSPN. If you cannot attend you will receive a refund only if your slot can be filled from the waiting list. If the class is oversubscribed Paula will ask if you want to be placed on the waiting list.

All NSPN-sponsored commercial events are run on a pass-through-the-cost-basis. NSPN may include a very small markup over actual costs to cover incidental expenses and support club activities that benefit the membership as a whole. These classes are still priced well below what commercial outfitters charge for comparable activities. The club does not subsidize activities that benefit only the participants in classes with limited enrollment. Therefore, in the highly unlikely event that the class is canceled due to extreme weather, there will be no refunds. Lightning will obviously keep us off the water, but much can be learned from these talented teachers on shore.
