Ipswich River to Coffins Beach – A lazy day in the sun

Parking: Cluster cars at left end of beach to minimize impact

Time of Launch: 10:00am launch

Expected Time of Takeout: 4:00 pm

Planned Duration: approx 6 hours

We launch at Pavillion Beach, and let the current carry us past the south tip of Plum Island. We'll find a nice spot away from the swimmers. We’ll settle in for a few hours on a nice sandbar, for lunch,. Pot-luck lunch contributions will be competitively assessed. We’ll paddle back, letting the tide push us right back to the cars. This is a level 3 for exposure to open ocean. Thunderstorms, winds over 15 knots, or surf over 2 feet will cancel.
