Tired of flat water? Bored with rivers? Like to try the open ocean but not sure you are ready? This trip is to introduce Level II paddlers to the open ocean conditions. We will not travel far from a bailout point. Depending on the weather, we will select a route that maximizes easy access to several types of open ocean conditions such as: swells, small surf landings, rock/ledge landings, channel markers and crossings, tidal currents etc. The objective is to experience handling your boat in open water and to increase awareness of the skills and knowledge required for open ocean paddling. A put-in with limited parking may be used. SPRAY SKIRTS, PUMPS AND PADDLE FLOATS REQUIRED. Plan to get wet. Thunderstorms or winds in excess of 10 knots cancel this trip.
