Two-day Greenland Paddling and Rolling Workshop on the North Shore

Cheri Perry and her partner Turner of Kayak Ways will be conducting a two-day workshop on Greenland Paddling and Rolling techniques on June 28-29, in Beverly, MA (Dane Street Beach).

I took this workshop last year and it was absolutely awesome, they are both are very knowledgeable Greenland paddlers (Turner is working with Gearlab people on their paddle designs, among other things) as well as excellent coaches. I learned a lot, and wanted to repeat it, so I asked Cheri and Turner to bring the workshop to the North Shore this summer, so both myself and other NSPN members could learn more about this.

THE PARTICIPATION IS LIMITED TO 8 PEOPLE AND THE PRICE IS $495 PER PARTICIPANT (that includes a substantial fee that needs to be paid to Beverly Recreation Department for using their facilities). The Workshop will run from 8:30 to 4:30 on both days. In my opinion, this workshop is well worth the price.

Please respond in comments if you are interested in attending or have any questions about this workshop, alternatively you could reach directly to Cheri Perry at [email protected]

Thank you,

V.

Hi Everyone - the event is being cancelled due to too few people signing up. Cheri and Turner will try to bring this workshop to the North Shore again the next season. If you would like to take it this season, they are giving a workshop in Portland, Maine onthe weekend of 14-15 th of June, please reach out to Cheri for signup directions.

I'm very interested in this, I was planning on signing up for a workshop with them this year and the location of this event could not be more perfect. Are there any more details available for signing up?

Hi Robert,

At this point, there aren't enough people interested in signing up, so it might not happen this season. They are probably going to make a decision within the next couple of days and I will let you know what the options are. If they decide not to do this workshop would you be interested going to their location for a one -day semi-private session with Cheri that weekend? That is what I am trying to explore.

Thanks,

Vlad

I'm the friend above and very interested. I didn't take Greenland lessons in Orkney - a few people in the club in Orkney had taken Greenland rolling lessons (I didn't ask who were the instructors) in Inverness last fall and gave me some tips.

I asked another friend from Appalachian Mountain Club and she had told another friend who is a Greenland paddler. Will see if there's more interest.

I heard at the Mystic River Herring paddle race yesterday that there used to be a Walden Pond Greenland rolling group. I'm trying to see if I can get any contacts.
