Free Charts from NOAA - BookletChart

Here is something else that some may find useful in terms of charts and developing routes.

While the fully functional trial period is for only 10 days, check the license for use beyond the trial period. Think you will be happy. It is serious software for serious use.

Great tool for planning trips. After you install the program you need to go to the NOAA site and create a zip file of all the charts you need. Coastal explorer will then import and use all the charts.

I create routes, display the details as in headings and distances, then print to PDF. Gives me a one page summary of trip along with useful nav info.

BTW, cursor gives you Long. and Lat. should you wish to add waypoints.

This is what I've been using for the past year. You do need to be comfortable with basic DOS commands and a photoediting tool - it's critical to keep the image resolution/size correct and not just stretch enlarge. It's been great to get exactly the area I need for a trip.
