In July I was camping in Muscungus and have not been able to find my VHF radio since. I left a MITA island and remember listening to the radio prior but have not seen it since. It was a ICOM M72. It might have been left at Muscungus Harbor where we launched from.

Sad news Suz. I'm assuming you've contacted police, Harbor Master, and business(es) near the launch site.

Was there any ID on it? FWIW I affix a simple dymo label on all my electronic gadgets, noting my (shortest) E address that I have. Don't know if it works, and assumes integrity from strangers.

My OLD Icom I did write my name on it. This was a new one and I hadn't done so. Shame on me!

I have contacted Mid Coast Maine Kayak who uses the Muscongus Harbor launch that we used. Trying to get the phone number of the Webber family that you pay to use the launch. I also e-mailed MITA in case anyone turns in a radio.

It could have easily have been placed on the boat and as I launched it slipped off quietly.

I decided to call around though as my daughter was traveling recently on a Delta flight and she inadvertently left my husband's Kindle (no name on it) in the seat back on one of the flights. A week later she realized it was missing and called the airline. They actually located it in Atlanta where she changed flights and then sent it up to Logan where I picked it up when last at the airport. I thought that was truly amazing and I thought it was gone for good.

I think the M72 might be on sale @ West Marine.

Thanks for the info.

I saw a rebate on it for $30 but no sale price. Rebate good until Aug 31.

Have to make some calls before the end of the month.

I left my Nook in a seat back and got an email from the guy who had that seat on the next flight. He mailed it back to me. :-) Liz

Suz,

I am at Hog Island and will be here until monday pm. If you send me more info relative to when and where you might have lost/dropped it, I could go and look. I have my Force 3 with me.
