Bolonsky Adam
...for an article on using ropes and tow equipment I need someone with a drysuit and a boat to meet me at either Boston Harbor or Mystic Lake, Medford or Manchester's Tucks Point or Duxbury's Powder Point to stand around for a while wearing their tow belt, then sitting in their kayak near shore. Best boat would be one equipped with either contact tow equipment and deck-mounted towing hardware, or both, as well as a neoprene spray skirt. Having a VHF radio you wear on your shoulder will also help.Photo caption would mention your club affiliation (if any) and, if you like, a mention of the outfit or club you were trained by (if any), or the paddling shop you are employed by. (Which is not to say that only club-affiliated, "trained", or working paddlers are encouraged to respond.) The story and photos will appear in both the online and print versions of the Feb. '05 WaveLength magazine (wavelengthmagazine.com).
Michael_B
Hi Adam... If you still need a model, I'll volunteer. I've got a deck mounted towing rig on my Anas Acuta, a tow belt, a contact tow, a neoprene spray skirt, and a VHF on my PFD...but my drysuit is in transit from the gasket repair shop. It should be here in a couple of days. Michael Brokenshire
Bolonsky Adam
Thanks Michael but I've got it covered with a north shore paddler who wouldn't have to drive as far.
pm7771
Michael-Rotted neck gasket I hear? Would like to hear more about that. I own an oversized plastic hanger I got from Divers Market here in Plymouth. No ill affects so far, I treat my Kokatat periodically - irregularly with 303. 4th year, still good. One torn wrist gasket that Wayne @ Divers Market had fixed nicely for me post-hastePeter M
