once again, folks, please excuse the use of bandwidth: do we have among our varied membership, perhaps, anyone with good electronics skills? good enough to do some fiddling for me with an electrostatic speaker?

thanks...

Give me a shout. caseyjeff-at-comcast-dot-net, or call me at home this weekend, 781-729-0926.

(Brian N., Bob & Dee HallBudd, and surely others are likewise talented.)

We do have experience with soldering things. We even have a butane fired soldering iron that was originally used to do work on our sailboat that most recently was soldering thermostat wiring at our income property. If you mean to be soldering wires within the speaker itself or are doing other speaker repair there is a first-rate outfit in Reading that reconed speakers for me.

Chris-

I'm not old, but I have been into audio since the heyday of electrostatic speakers (klh comes to mind)/ You can probably get good or better help locally but keep me in mind

my home office toll free is 800-649-7771

(I've been into audio sales & service since 1975)

What do you need to do? Are you repairing a crossover or something? As a general rule, the soldering in speakers/crossovers is pretty simple to do with a basic pencil iron.

It's funny you should mention Hifi equipment, as I just installed new woofer surrounds on a pair of JBL L112's that Linda was going to toss out. Now, if I can only find a replacement midrange driver for one of them...
