Maine Island Trail Association Members?

The NSPN BOD is working on a proposal to possibly form some type of alliance with the Maine Island Trail Association. If you could take this quick poll, we'd appreciate the data.

I don't see how to "take" the poll unless its simply to answer the questions in the original posting. We have had more or less continuous membership in MITA for many years and plan to continue said membership. We have discontinued NSPN membership as of last year and plan to continue doing so.

Just now I clicked on the message and the poll came up. Originally when I clicked on the message it looked like any other and I replied.

I am ashamed to say that while I have been a MITA member for 3 years I have only once ever paddled to a MITA Island (Damariscove); but I dont regret the investment in the organization. Hoping to visit more of the islands this next season.

Why in the world do you use the NSPN board if you don't care to be a member? Shouldn't you find another place to post if you don't want to be part of the club? You seem to just want to create conflict and not add to the discussion.

I offer the benefit of my experience. I suggest that a personal message on this issue would have been a more appropriate usage of the board.

Anyway, I'm a member of both, and intend to be in '09 (actually, I already am in 09). There are some sections of the MIT that I want to do this year (Penobscot Bay, Schoodic Head to Petit Manaan, and Jonesport to Machiasport).
