Visiting Boston - Where can I borrow/rent a boat?

I'm going to be visiting the Boston area in late March and would love to do a little paddling while I'm there. Can anyone recommend a good way to get short-term access to a boat and gear?

As far as gear, I can't help you much accept to say that you may find you can rely on the kindness of strangers for most of the bits and pieces. You should have a dry suit. As for the boat, Charles River is one place you can rent. There are others that I can't recall. You might also find that those with more boats than bodies will volunteer a craft for a day or so. For all of this your dimensions would be needed. For "donations" I'd post a more informational message on this board.
