Not surprising, considering we're supposed to go from 9º to 60º in the next couple of days! Should be interesting! What's next? Locusts!!! ;)

Just kidding... definately not complaining about the warm days coming!

(Lewis Black has a great routine about the Weather in Boston in February...you should check it out!)

Found it...Just for fun:

I knew that the weather in this country was completely out of control and that something was wrong ten years ago.

I was in Boston, Massachusetts, in February. OK?

Normally, in February, in Boston, and in most of the country,

the weather is gray,

rainy gray,

sleet-gray-rainey-gray-sleet,

snow gray...

One day I called into work...

"I'm not coming in."

"Why not, you sick?"

"No, It's too GRAY!"

every day it just gets grayer...

and grayer...

and grayer.

And then by February, you look at your wrists and think

maybe I should slit 'em

and see color!!

But in that February, in Boston, in four days, I experienced five seasons.

It was thirty, it was sixty, it was ninety, it was twelve!

And on the last day, there was thunder, lightning, and snow

...together!

And I hadn't done drugs!

'Cause when you're lying in bed, OK, and you hear thunder outside,

you get up to look,

you have an expectation.

And it's not snow, with lightning behind it.

That's...not...right!

They don't even write about that kind of weather in the Bible!

I called in to work, I said,

"I'm scared to death, cuz I know what's next - locusts!"

And there will come a day,

mark my words,

when great big giant frogs will be falling from the sky...

Willard Scott - Willard Scott, he smiles so much I don't think he has a central nervous system! --

Willard Scott will get on the news and great big giant frogs will be bouncing off his head!

"Giant Frogs, giant frogs, what can I say...back to you-"

-Lewis Black 1998

:haha:

standard operating procedure out there....

on the west coast, esp california, many statistics (snowfall, LA rainfall) have year-to-year fluctuations larger than the averages. normal out there, seems weird to us here on the sedate east coast. between heavy erosion and the active geology, you get the dramatic topography that makes it all so beautiful (as one geologist (Jeff Unruh) is quoted, "topography doesn't happen for nothing".)

if you want some perspective on this, entertaining reading is found in "Ecology of Fear" by Mike Davis...or at least in the first few chapters before he starts getting weird....
