Nick Schade
A few weeks back some friends engaged in a little rough water rescue practice out at Catumn Rocks. I didn't think I had my camera on at the time, but it turns out it was. As a consequence my aim on the camera was not good, but it gives an idea what a rescue is like in some decent wind waves and current. Gcosloy
Very Impressive. Looked like the assist part was harder than the rescue e part. No way would a paddle float rescue work in those conditions.
Pintail
The best bit is right at the end, where Nick is surfing downwind in those lovely, big, meaty waves! As for the rescue -- the waves weren't so big, were they, Suz? (It seemed to me that it took a long time for the rescuee to get his act together again, once back in the boat -- remember that any rescue in cold water must be accomplished as fast as possible)
