Guest guest
hello all- I am new to nspn- I live in Gloucester- Hi Pat- I did it! I have been "lurking" but I am very interested in learning more and getting together. I did see a post for lessons at the Lydon.... is that the one in Danvers? I am interested in lessons...kayak & canoe. Please let me know of any that may be out there, thanks.Oh- and hello Peter K. Carol
PattyP
Hi Carol,Welcome to NSPN. Check out the winter pool sessions. Lydon pool is in Danvers behind the Liberty Tree mall. Its a great place to learn about kayaking, meet some fellow NSPN'rs, get some advice and have some fun. There are also pool sessions at the Reading YMCA and in Chinatown. The Reading sessions are on Sunday afternoon. Although the commute for us Gloucesterites is a bit longer, the pool is great, the locker rooms are clean and the door to the pool is very easily accessable with lots of parking right there!Hope to see you there,-Patty

Guest guest
Hi Carol,Pool sessions are a really great idea, for skills and for meeting other paddlers. Reading and Lydon are both pretty easy from Gloucester. It's essentially like driving to REI or to the Liberty Tree Mall. There are a number of NSPN folk living in Gloucester -- you might even be able to share a ride with someone if you posted that you wanted to for a particular session.--b
Guest guest
Hello again Carol. Looking forward to meeting and paddling with you. Then you will discover the reason for my infamy :-) Might show up at pool sessions if I cannot find bigger water. Must avoid my merciful, long-suffering (believe me on this)wife hitting me wiht frying pan though so have to pick my times.
