traction
I set up a camera on the deck of my kayak and got a few decent shots, even though the conditions around the mouth of the Merrimac river were disapointingly calm today the pix came out pretty good. brwells
Brad - nice photos. What camera are you using and how did you mount it to the kayak? Brian P&H Capella 163 Red/White/Black trim
ccarlson
Also, how did you trigger the exposure? Did you have some kind of remote "shutter" release?
Bill Gwynn
All will be answered at tomorrows Kingston skills session. I have the same setup... To speak for my brother, the camera is an Optio W10, the settings allow you to set auto picture taking at intervals you define, Brad sets his for every 10 seconds. The mount is basically a piece of plastic trash can cut in an oval shape and backed with some thin minicell. Then mounted to the plastic is a tube made from 3/4" PVC capped, then a 1/4 20 nut and bolt for mounting the camera. The whole assembly is then tucked under the deck bungies. Of course there is also a tether just in case. Very ingenious setup. Brad can be pretty creative when working on a limited budget.
