Monterey Bay - 06Dec03

On the day of the big Nor'Easter, I was fortunate enough to be on the left coast finishing up a business trip. The Friday night before, the Marine forecast was 3-5 ft swells with a 5-10 kt wind for Saturday. Saturday mornings forecast drastically changed due to an Alaskan storm extending it's reach, so now conditions were 15-20ft swells with upwards of 20kt winds. There was even a beach goer warning so no one got washed out to sea!

I've never even seen a 20ft swell, so we drove down to the beach to see the action. Amazingly, the inner harbor was incredibly calm and we were able to get out with mild conditions.
