Shane
On the day of the big Nor'Easter, I was fortunate enough to be on the left coast finishing up a business trip. The Friday night before, the Marine forecast was 3-5 ft swells with a 5-10 kt wind for Saturday. Saturday mornings forecast drastically changed due to an Alaskan storm extending it's reach, so now conditions were 15-20ft swells with upwards of 20kt winds. There was even a beach goer warning so no one got washed out to sea! I've never even seen a 20ft swell, so we drove down to the beach to see the action. Amazingly, the inner harbor was incredibly calm and we were able to get out with mild conditions. http://www.2paddles.com/MontereyBay_06Dec03.htm _Shane "Would a knife help protect you against a ‘curious’ shark?
