alcoons
I have only done this route in the reverse direction, and my research does not give a complete picture , could an expert or two confirm the timing and sensibility of this trip given the tides, the weather report and that we will be returning by the coast? High Tide about 9 AM Distance 9 miles FORECAST for SAT: a) COASTAL WATERS from Merrimack out 25 miles: S WINDS 10 TO 15 KT. SEAS 2 TO 3 FT BOSTON HARBOR: SW WINDS 5 TO 10 KT...INCREASING TO 10 TO 15 KT LATE. WAVES 1 FOOT OR LESS. jclifford
Forecast as of 9:43 PM EDT on August 18, 2006 Coastal Waters From Merrimack River Ma Out 25 Nm To Plymouth Ma Out 40 Nm...Including The Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary- Overnight SW winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas around 2 ft. Sat S winds 5 to 10 kt...increasing to 10 to 15 kt late. Seas around 2 ft. This is the forecast from Marine Underground. I have paddled this trip a few times,,the tides should work getting through Fox Creek early,, as for the front of Cranes, well,, we may have a few waves. We can discuss the trip when everyone arrives. The big sandbar near Cranes will be exposed, and a few of my friends are playing golf on it! I am not an expert, and am willing to listen to any advice.
