eneumeier
The weather looks to be clearing: http://www.wunderground.com/radar/mixedcom...gion=a5&size=2x so plan to launch from Lanes Cove at 11:00 AM. Here is the deal: RSVP to Patty by 4:30 PM on Friday, August 18 to order a lobster. (Local guy, "to the boat" market price, size dependent on what is in the traps that day, assume $10 or so). Paddle where you like and get back to my place in Lanesville by 3:30 PM. (Outdoor shower available.) The rest of the meal (including beverages) will be Pot Luck. Corn on the cob is good. The grill will be available for those who want to bring veggie burgers or red meat. Patty P and I plan to launch out of Lanes Cove at 11:00 AM and get back to Lanes Cove by 3:00 PM. If the winds make it too rough, we will post changes here no later than 8:30 AM on Sunday morning and move the launch location to a sheltered area, Sandy Bay in Rockport, Pebble Beach in Rockport or Gloucester Harbor. (Low tide in Annisquam is 3:23 PM, which would make for an ugly takeout.) People are welcome to join us on a level 2/3 type leisurely trip or organize your own more challenging adventure. I need to have an idea how many people to expect, so post here or send Patty an email NO LATER THAN 4:30 PM ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 19. SHE ONLY GETS EMAIL AT WORK. (I am out of town that week from Wednesday until Friday night and will not get messages.) Patty's email: pattyp_55@yahoo.com Parking is limited around here in August so people will need to leave cars at Lanes cove and either walk or car pool. Do NOT plan on parking on my street without me knowing about it. Some neighbors are a bit riled up this year. Liz N.

eneumeier
Hi Mary, Come on ahead. I'll try to get a lobster for you but the order has already been placed, for 11 of the crawly bugs. Lanes Cove is listed in the put ins here: http://www.nspn.org/play-put-ins.html Lanes Cove on Cape Ann is on the northwest side of the Cape, providing a starting point for exploring the Annisquam or rounding Halibut Point to get to Rockport and the Dry Salvages. Take Route 128 to the rotary at exit 11, from the rotary head up Route 127 (turn left at the circle), past Annisquam, the UMASS Marine Station and continue. 4.5 miles to Duley Street. Turn left and follow Duley Street 0.1 mile to cove; park anywhere that doesn't block the road. Launch from the head of the cove and then park either in the main lot or back up on the main road - walking distance varies with the tide. Liz N.
