I Have a Toyota Prius and have yet to try out my yak on the car. Wondered if there are any other Prius owners out there and how the car handled with a yak on top of it?

I have a Thule rack and a Necky Santa Cruz rec. yak.

Cheers to you Bill, for buying a hybrid. I wouldn't expect you'd have any problem with the Prius, assuming you've got the correct mounting accessories, but what do I know? ...not enough!

Handles fine! Occasionally you may need to apply a little stern rudder with your paddle, especially in high cross winds. Oh and leaning your body a bit on curves helps too.

I'll let you guys know how it handles. FYI I'm getting 57 mpg without the AC on with it on I get 48. I'll bet the with the yak on it will be in the high 40 mpgs. Not too shabby. The technology is here so give it a good look. Bill.

I have a KYMCO People 50 that gets about 80 MPG....

Have yet to figure out how to carry a kayak on it.

Any suggestions?
