shewhorn
Hi everyone. My GF and I have recently gotten into kayaking. We took our intro lesson together and she did quite well. While I had no problems with the instructor (I've taken a few more lessons with this person including some private lessons on the ocean) and have learned quite a lot from them I don't think that their style of teaching clicks with my GF. She wants to learn more so we can eventually take a trip to Alaska to do some paddling and whale watching (we've accumulated 4 round trip tickets during peak season to Alaska via one of our credit cards) as well as get into some more challenging conditions locally. Anyhow, in talking with her, she thinks she might learn better from a female instructor so if anyone here has some recommendations I'd love to hear them.Cheers, Joe
brwells
I'm sure there are many excellent instructors in the area. But one person I can recommend without hesitation is Alexandra Landrum from New England Small Craft.Brian
Suz
I would recommend Alex as well. You can usually reach her through the shop or if you e-mail me, I will give you her e-mail/phone.Suzsuzanne dot hutchinson at comcast dot net
shewhorn
Thanks everyone, I'll give Alex a call. I've heard her name come up a few times at the practice sessions as well (seems like everyone buys their gear from her).Cheers, Joe
