The forecast is too unfavorable for a night paddle.

This trip has been on the calendar for a while. The forecast is not looking great, so check here at 4:00 PM for notice of any changes.

If you want to join us, there is still room. Send Roger your RSVP info (name, NSPN/ACA#, boat description, emergency contact and brief description of your experience).

NOTE: Bring a light and warm clothes as it will be cool when we are out of our boats.

Description : (Yeah, we know it's the day after the "real" full moon.)

Enjoy sunset over Gloucester Harbor and a picnic supper on Dogbar breakwater while the (nearly) full moon rises. This trip is for level 2 paddlers who want to paddle at night. We will launch from Pavilion Beach (Greasy Pole) on Stacy Boulevard, Gloucester then browse around the inner harbor, Smith Cove and Rocky Neck. After a “comfort break” at Niles Beach we will continue past the Eastern Point mansions and land at Lighthouse beach. After securing our kayaks we will walk out Dogbar Breakwater for our picnic supper and to view the (nearly) full moon rising at 8:51 PM. We will return by a direct route past Ten Pound Island. Coast Guard mandated lighting required. You will also need good footwear and clothes to put on during our supper break.
