hopefloats Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 I'm a new member and a beginner (as is my husband, See my earlier post) and I'm very interested in this class. However, I have a family graduation in the 17th. I was wondering if it would be ok to sign up for the second day only on the 18th, or if it's really best to do the first day if you can only make one.If I can do the second day, how should I sign up?Cathy said to contact her to verify that I will soon have a membership card...Heidi Hall Quote
Kevin B (RPS Coach) Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 Heidi,I can't comment on which day would be best to attend since I don't know much about the course, but you can send an email to Paula with any questions. Click on the symbol next to her site name once you open the post and you'll be able to send her an email with the questions you have. Quote
Suz Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 Hi Heidi,Welcome to the club and message board! If you are brand new to kayaking, you shouldn't miss day one. You would need that foundation to do day 2.Sometimes people will treat day 2 as a "refresher" when they are just getting back on the water. Suzanne(for specifics of signing up for any activity w/ the club, look for the registrar details within the calendar post. In this case it is Paula Reigel at fatcat at metrocast dot net). Quote
hopefloats Posted May 25, 2006 Author Posted May 25, 2006 I must not be seeing the icon next to the name in the post from the calendar. Is it possible that the set up appears differently or things are missing if you're on a mac?P.S. Thanks to the previous "post-er" (I think it said Suzanne?) for typing her email into her reply for me.... Quote
Kevin B (RPS Coach) Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 As a mac user, it won't appear any different. In any post on the message board (not the calendar), there is a small icon next to the poster's screen name. When you click that icon, you can email the person. Since Suz posted Paula's email, by all means use that instead; however, in the future you can email people using the icon when the email is not listed. Quote
Suz Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 When looking at the calendar details for a particular event, look for "To Register"Here is how it looks on the calendar post:To Register: Send an email to the class facilitator, Paula, at fatcat at metrocast dot net. Include your ACA #, boat description, emergency contact name and phone number. Please indicate if you want to attend the 1st day (June 17th) or both days (June 17th & 18th). Hope this helps.Suzanne(PS - I'm familiar with the class as I took it years ago plus I was the registrar for the class for a few years.) Quote
