If you'd like to join the ranks of New England Surfski Racers in this area, and looking to train and race in the ocean, send me an email so I can help you to find others near you to train with. There is a core group of a dozen in MA, ME, RI and CT. Last year's Blackburn had 16 surfskis and it's developing into a national level event in surfski class. We have been paddling every weekend so far this warm winter. There are many races in the Northeast, some associated with single/ double outrigger races some with the sea kayaks. There is a National Surfski Championships in CA , run out under Golden Gate and up the coast and back.

Its a good way to stay fit ( or become more fit ) and there are age groupings at many races. You can find starter surfskis for sale in the area to learn on. The good thing is its simple, one stroke forward, no extra gear to take ( no place to put it ).
