bethany Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 My friend Dennis Foley reported and produced the following -- listen in:This weekend NPR's 'Living On Earth' will be airing a story about Mass. local clean water advocate & activist, Roger Frymire (aka - "The Mad Kayaker of Massachusetts").Frymire has been patrolling the waterways here by kayak for the last decade taking samples from the Mystic, Muddy and Charles Rivers. He reports his findings (which are usually contaminated with high levels of Fecal Coliform mostly from storm overflow) to sources such as the EPA, MWRA, DEP and DPWs around the state. He's quite an interesting character and has been making, ahem, a lot of waves lately (...) with towns that continually contribute to poor water quality. The show is broadcast here in Boston on WBUR 90.9 FM on Sunday mornings at 7:00am (check local NPR station web sites for other national times). The piece will air in the last quarter hour of the show. For those who don't like the early hour you can download the piece, or the entire show, at www.loe.org - click the link for MAD KAYAKER. Or, search 'living on earth' on your RSS service for a podcast of the program. Quote
