eneumeier Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I know there are several campgrounds on "the other cape" but I have never used them. Does anyone have experience camping down there? I am looking for a place fairly close to Chatham, for the Saturday private trip Linda posted.Liz N. Quote
glad Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Liz-you can try Nickerson's in Brewster. It is supposed to be very beautiful and next to some nice kettle ponds as well.Karen Quote
djlewis Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 There are two state parks on THE ;-) Cape with camping, and I think those are much better for tenters tahn any of the commercial parks, which probably cater more to RVs. Nickerson State Park is in Brewster, which is fairly close to Chatham. Shame-Crowell is in Sandwich, not so close. You can get to both here... http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/southeast/nick.htm and even make reservations online. --David. Quote
Brian Nystrom Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Shawme-Crowell is just down the street from "Casa Linda". It might be convenient for linking up before the trip. Quote
Suz Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Nickerson is the last place you can have a fire and I'm sure you won't need reservations at this time of year as the place is huge.Years ago there were a couple of campgrounds out in Orleans that I liked - don't remember the names but they weren't the type that have pools and evening movies - just rustic and quaint.Suzanne Quote
