Paddler survey re your motivations for sea kayaking

Hi NSPN Paddlers, 

Rick Wiebush of Cross Currents Sea Kayaking is conducting a formal survey on why people love to sea kayak and would value your participation. 

I took it myself and thought he might reach a broader audience if I posted it here.

It takes about 10-12 minutes to complete. It is a professional survey that has been applied to various outdoor adventure activities and has been validated multiple times.

 

Prizes

When the survey is over, there will be a prize drawing and everyone who completes the survey will have a chance to win. The first prize is a $500 Cross Currents Gift Certificate that can be used for the 2022 Kiptopeke Sea Kayaking Symposium (or any other courses/trips). The second prize is a VHF radio. The third prize is a $50 REI gift certificate.

 

The Reason

Very little is known in a formal way about the various reasons that people love to paddle. (That is especially true for “baby boomers” – those of us who are 55 years of age and older.) I want to use this survey to help fill that knowledge gap. I hope to publish articles in a professional journal and in one of the national paddling magazines. I think the results will be helpful to organizations who run paddling programs like the ACA, paddling clubs and Meet-Up groups, as well as outfitters and tour providers. The survey is not a marketing tool for Cross Currents.  

 

Anonymous

The survey is automated (Survey Monkey), so you just click on your answer. It goes fast. The survey is anonymous so no one, including me, will know how you answered the questions.
