bazzert
Anyone out on the islands this year, busier than usual ? I ask, because we are planning a trip early to mid sept; wil be bringing kids so less flexibility to paddle additional miles if occupied. Specifically considering the MITA islands in the vicinity of Isle of Springs, Boothbay. If anyone has a sense of how heavily used they are would appreciate the advice. Thanks, Barry. gyork
FWIW, my daughter and I just finished a weekend trip to the Sebascodegan area, staying on a favored site by many. I'm not aware of the ratio of log entries v. actual camp stays, but the log had only 2 entries of camping, 1 each of sailing and kayaking parties. g
calypso
Barry, If anything, I would say quieter. We were further up (down?) the coast, but islands were pretty quiet.
Wayne S.
I was out on the Goslings a few of weeks ago in nice weather. Granted, it was a Monday but there was only some day usage on 1 of the 3 islands and no other overnighters. Can't say whether this is par for the course. Benjamin Rechel
I just got back from two nights on Little Chebeague and it was swarming with summer camp groups from Rippleffect. I wonder when they wrap up for the season, and what islands they tend to camp on.
Joseph Berkovitz
They are based on Cow Island. I believe they wrap up when school starts.
NPearson
We had a couple of nights on Little Chebeague this summer - a Ripple effect group was there on one night but we camped well away from them and hardly saw them.
