Jim Snyder
If the Thursday 22 forecast holds it would be perfect: Air temps in the mid 50s Sea temps in the mid 50s 1-2' swells on 9 seconds LT 10am Before finalizing details let's see if we have a group. Contact me by Sunday night if possible by any method. I know some people were hoping to do this on a weekend because of silly commitments to work during the week?. Last year we did this trip twice in the fall and I hope to schedule another on a weekend. Edited October 17, 2020 by Jim Snyder add text

Cath
Many working class members work weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or overnights and therefore might have some days off during the week. It's nice to see some things offered on different days or at different times for those who do not have the advantage of working regular weekday daytime hours. Jim Snyder
Trip plan is finalized for this Thursday the 22nd. Plan to arrive in time to launch at 10am, probably on the river side as it would be a long beach walk at low tide. Depending on conditions, which the MSW prediction has elevated to 2.5' swell, we will have the beach at Cape Neddick Harbor as our turn around point but may decide to shorten this if surf and rocks are too distracting. Ogunquit to Cape Neddick and back is about 12nm. I will bring a waiver, please bring your own pen. So far it's me and Bill Harter, we should be fine with up to 8. The chart for this area has a disappointing lack of detail. The USGS topo is actually more interesting: I've attached it as a .pdf Ogunquit.pdf Edited October 19, 2020 by Jim Snyder add text

Jim Snyder
I'm hoping to reschedule this trip while it's still October. Next Wednesday is a possibility and I'd like to gauge interest. For those who are weekend warriors ? I don't have conditions for next weekend yet but it's trending towards bigger than I would like.
prudenceb
Wednesday might work for me but with all the driving I've been doing, might not want to spend another 4 hrs on the road. Hard to tell from today's perspective. Odiorne anyone ?? Edited October 25, 2020 by prudenceb
Jim Snyder
Wednesday doesn't even work for me anymore and conditions are predicted to be big this weekend. I'll keep trying.

Nancy Hill
From comments above, it looks like launch time is 10:00 AM. Is that correct? Is parking for the launch in the main lot for Ogunquit Beach at the end of Beach Street?

Jim Snyder
Geeze Prudence, I was going to? Let's plan on a 10 am launch on the river side, the low tide would make a long walk likely on the ocean side, with potentially a surf launch. https://www.google.com/maps/place/43°14'60.0"N+70°35'39.3"W/@43.2489946,-70.5986939,1098m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x89e2a8ceb384f39f:0xeb126c7e69cd190c!2sOgunquit+Beach!3b1!8m2!3d43.2559199!4d-70.59172!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d43.2499884!4d-70.594262
