Danny G
Hi Everyone. I was wondering if from all of you who own a kayak you wax it after a long stay in the barn or after you gave it a good wash. If yes which wax are you guys using?

Danny G
A quick search on my local chandlery website revealed this one https://www.foxschandlery.com/meguires-mirror-glaze-maximum-mold-release-wax-11-oz-311g-no-08. Is this the right one?
Nancy Hill
No. That is not what you want. Here is what I have, although any good marine wax should be fine. http://www.meguiars.com/en/marine/products/m6332-flagship-premium-marine-wax-32oz/
Danny G
Thanks a lot! Have found it online for a better price than the manufacturer :). I live in UK so the postage would cost an arm and a leg to buy directly from them :).
Brian Nystrom
Wax? What's that?
rpg51
Why would you wax it? Its just a pick up truck for water travel.
Danny G
Why would you inflate the tires of a truck? They still spin if they are round right?
Danny G
The link you provided does not work so just in case somebody is looking to buy it in UK here is where I found it : https://www.foxschandlery.com/meguiars-flagship-premium-marine-wax
jason
My boat is lucky to get new deck lines and replacement gel coat. Wax isn't something that any of boats should expect. Wax isn't close to air for tires. One is a safety issue, I would more equate waking a kayak to adding pinstripes to a truck. -Jason

Ryan Bardsley
I use Collinite No. 476 Super Doublecoat Auto Wax which you can get on Amazon. I tried using the Starbrite Marine Polish with PTFE but never liked how it went on. I don't think anyone waxes their kayak for safety reasons, but to keep ocean/lake grime from building up, I find these work very well, especially the Collinite. I race, so I wax my boat regularly. It's more a ritual than anything else.
