Hello everyone. Short notice but I have the next 2 days off. I am looking for anyone who’d like to accompany me for an open water or shoreline paddle. Looking into NE MA, NH, or as Southern Maine. Possibly RI shorelines. Another thought would be Boston Harbor or inner islands. I am still new to the area and would love any interested parties to join me. I am open for suggestions. During this two day program, the Blue Hill environment offers us a versatile teaching environment. The focus for the sessions will be on mastering crossing eddy lines, effective use of stroke for placement on a wave, surfing a standing wave, stability, and dynamic movement. Prime Paddlesports New England Kayak Camp with Ben Lawry Thursday, September 29th - Sunday, October 2, 2016 Prime Paddlesports is excited to have arranged for international paddling talent, Ben Lawry to spend three days with us in this fall. We aim to practice in popular dynamic water locations between Groton, CT and Jamestown, RI over the dates of this retreat. Over the early summers of 2011-2014 Ben hosted his popular Power Paddle Camps in this area and he looks forward to returning to the fun waters of southern New England and spending time with other enthusiastic paddlers who want to challenge and grow themselves in more challenging environments. Instruction Plan: This is an open format style program,where the participant’s desired areas of improvement will be the cornerstone of the long weekend. Participant’s overall skill & experience levels will influence the tempo. This program is ideal for intermediate paddlers looking to gain confidence and experience in various conditions including rocks, surf and current. However, we always focus on foundations and will start there. Accommodations: We have rented the “Groton House” a beautiful Victorian Home on Avery Point in Groton, Connecticut to host this event. Prime Paddlesports has used this home over the past several seasons and it is a customer favorite. The home sleeps up to twelve people, offers lots of space for privacy, gear and socializing. Arrive: 7:00 PM Thursday, September 29th Depart: Sunday, October 2nd 2016 Meals: Basic Breakfast items will be included. Participants are responsible for their own lunches and meals. It is likely the group will elect to go out to dinner one evening. We have a spacious and fully equipped kitchen to work out of.
