  1. Cathy I'm interested but am not sure I have all the right gear. I’ve only cold weather paddled at the Easter paddle. What constitutes a light to identify oneself? Why glow sticks? Or is that used to identify oneself
  2. Most of the new top loading machines are designed just like the front loading.- ie no agitator. I’ve never washed my dry suit in it but we have a top loading because the front load wouldn’t fit in our designated space
  3. My F-1 is where I began my kayaking. I had never kayaked before building mine so my frame of reference is skewed. I loved it - maybe because it was my baby. I eventually got a North Shore Polar kayak for a variety of reasons - none of which really had to do with the F-1. I had a terrible time trying to learn to roll in it because every time I had to wet exit the boat fully filled with water and was a pain to empty. Therefore I was reluctant to keep trying. Once I got my Polar I finally learned to roll - although still not fully reliable. I really haven't used it since. I tried it in a pool session and found I couldn’t sit in it, which I chalked up to the fact that I’ve had hip and knee replacements since I built it. I keep saying I’m going to try it again and just haven’t ( it’s hanging in my basement and is hard to access - poor excuse ) i use a Snap Dragon spray skirt
  4. Walden does continue if people want it to. As for the F-1, there are three of us (myself included) that go to Walden that have made an F-1. One uses his as his primary kayak and is also the most frequent participant at Walden, as well as being the "organizer of Walden. As of this moment I’m not sure if anyone is going tomorrow.
  5. I’m in Maine and won’t be back til Wednesday night so I won’t be there either.
  6. Change in plans and I won’t be able to go to Walden this week
  7. I’m planning on being there, weather depending. Hope you have fun in Maine
  8. Ok but we need to keep an eye on the weather. Storms cropping up around 2
  9. Yes,. Bill Voss and I. Not sure about anyone else.
  10. Would very much like to join you. However, that will be dependent on what time you launch. I am out late Fri night and have an hour and a half drive to get there. Sooooo, what time are you launching
  11. Couldn't agree more - warm water, sun and friends - and successful rolls
  12. I will be there. Finally home on a Wednesday
  13. I have a Prius. I bought a hullivatore and was unable to use it because the car wasn’t high enough. The hullivator was almost on the ground and I couldn’t reach to release it. I have absolutely no problem pushing it up the back of the car. I place a piece of carpeting over the back of the car, lift the bow up onto it and then work my way to the stern and lift and push it up o to my rack which has foam on it. Really easy and simple
  14. Unfortunately cannot go this week. (But I did roll today!)
  15. I got new deck lines from Carl Ladd at Osprey Sea Kayak. Not sure if he had the bungee.
  16. Is anyone going to Walden. I'm finally available and am very flexible time wise
  17. I will not be there this week ☹️
  18. Navionics. I have apple version but I’m pretty sure they have an Android version
  19. Unless there is some unforeseen event I plan on attending and could do compelled as well
  20. Great report. The phone version of the website is the problem
