Same answers as David M, except that there are a few bits on Maine coast I would like better charts (More detail) for than I have.

Are there still any spots open? There is about a 75% chance that I will be free to join you all, BUT I probably wouldn't be able to arrive until Sat. (working Friday until noonish) AND, I won't know for certain until Wed or Thursday if I can go... (Grr, sometimes work sucks!) Having said all this, can I be on a "just in case there is room" list ? I'd be fine with paddling out solo on Sat to meet you all on Sat evening. This is a beautiful area, esp this time of year!

Wow, I totally missed this thread! I guess that's what I get for being too preoccupied with hiking and snowshoing in the winter.. And I'm not free this Aug anyway, but maybe it will be so awesome you will want to do it again! Oooh I am SO sorry that I will miss this fabulous affair! I am co-leading an intro winter camping trip this weekend, and it looks like the weather is co-operating (no -20 temps) so our trip is on... and I will be sleeping in the snow, dreaming of yummy potluck delights as I digest my freeze dried dinner. Please eat lots of goodies for me!

Definitely interested, but I have an evening commitment, so I'd have to leave on the earlier side. I'll keep an eye on the weather and this thread, sounds like fun!

Make sure it is adjustable in size so you can wear a warm hat/hood under it if need be. I like the NRS adjustable model, but the one I have doesn't have a brim. Personally i like wearing a baseball cap under it for the brim.

So sad to hear this! I only paddled with him a few times, but I have good memories.

Whoa! Yes, I got knocked off my feet once, and almost pulled into the water, while ocean watching on some rocks on a "calm" day in Hawaii. I never even saw the wave that hit me; but I still have scars where I clung to the lava shoreline for dear life as the retreating water dragged me towards the edge. I've never forgotten that moment, glad you didn't have a similar one!

Congratulations!! Great job both of you, I can't wait to see what adventures you cook up next!
