Thanks Janet. I do like Rock play, and like some surfing, and as I mentioned touring, so I think it will be a fun day. I know Dave and looking forward to meeting you and Stephanie. I have never paddled Swampscot/Nahant area so that will be cool (been to marblehead/salem/beverly many times). I will plan to arrive 9AM to be ready to launch 9:30.

Janet, can you give the approximate route? Is this trip going to have both touring and surfing, or is it just majority surfing? Reason I ask is I am not much of a surfer, happy to play along for a bit, but not a large chunk of day. I much prefer touring and checking out the area. Thanks, Bob

Jonathan, I would most likely be up for it. As far as traffic (as someone mentioned), if we get an early start as Jonathan suggested we might be out of there before the firework crowds come. Also, as far as the boats setting up for fireworks, I would think that we could stay a good distance away from them, esp. if its between West Beach and Misery (we can stay on the Bakers Island side of Misery). Hi John, I have done this paddle once before. We had a near perfect day, very light winds and calm seas. It is a very nice paddle. That said, I have heard that it can get very rough out there, and know several people who have tried this paddle and needed to turn back. I am interested if the conditions (weather) looks very favorable, and I can get the time off. I will contact you directly (via your email) this weekend to let you know how that is looking. Pablo, The area under/around the replacement bridge site has been closed to all boaters, including kayakers for a couple of weeks now. I would bet that it is closed, still, as Al mentioned. To be sure, you could call a local marina, or listen to your radio if can get get reception from home. Bob
