I think I'll pass, rather than slow the group down and make it into a shorter trip. Have fun!

I'd love to paddle, but would prefer something starting a little later with a little less distance than the Boston Harbor trip you posted. (I'm a level 2-3 paddler as far as skills go, but closer to 2 as far as distance and speed go.)

Hi Barry, Thanks! I'm actually most worried about the current right by Deer Island. Does it get better closer to Boston Harbor? I'm also thinking about going out and around. Carolyn

Does anyone have suggestions for the easiest/safest way to get from Winthrop to any of the Harbor Islands? Is it possible to get there at a level 1+/2-? (The channel by Deer Island is too difficult for the people going.) Thanks! Carolyn

Does anyone have any suggestions for where to shop for gear? I'm mostly looking for a neoprene spray skirt for my Pygmy Coho. (It has a larger cockpit than average.) Wilderness House came up empty. EMS came up empty. REI might have some stuff, but tends to be mostly nylon. I remember hearing about a really awesome place somewhere on the North Shore from an NSPN member, but that was about 5 years ago. Thank you! Carolyn
