  3. I also surf a 10 ft WS Kaos SOT that I have been surfing for the last 20 years. I also ran Sea Kayaks surf sessions in southern NH for 20 years, I don't go out much in the winter any more because my hands get cold. if you're interested we could meet this spring or summer and surf some waves. Bill Harter
  4. I use silicone spray to free up my rudder at times at least once a year. For me I turn the kayak upside down and spray it into the Skeg box and move the slide back and forth also lifting the skeg up and down. The trick is how to get silicone into the rudder tube. try working a little at a time.
  5. My Werner Ikelos was loose in the joint area and then the ferrule broke. My paddle is 14 years old. I tried repairing it with epoxy which held for a couple weeks and then I could feel it coming apart again. I thought maybe I would make it a one piece paddle. Not knowing what to do I bought a used one. Then I was paddling with a friend and he suggested I call Werner Paddles because he had a broken blade replaced. I called and they told me that they can repair for $59.00 plus return shipping. I sent it in and it was back to me in about 3 weeks. The ferrule was updated to the newest style. Total cost was around $100.00 Bill Harter

  8. Bill Voss and myself headed out of Seabrook Harbor to the mouth of the river where it was very rough with waves coming from two directions. We punched through it to outside the break. Forecast was for 1 to 3ft and 5 mph winds. To our surprise it was 3 to 5ft and 12 mph winds. We had some fun rides. The best part is being on the water in conditions with friends. Bill Harter
