  1. I have updated the menu bar to make the calendar more visible.
  2. Thanks, I will take a look at fixing the rss feed to make that work again.
  3. The upgrade has just finished. it took just over 7 hours from start to finish. Across all off the forums we have close to 70K posts. If you noticed anything that's not working please report it to this thread or e-mail webmaster@nspn.org. Thanks -Jason
  4. Splitting the group on a winter paddle is something that I would work hard to avoid. It's much better to put someone on tow and keep the group together than to read about the results of not doing that in the paper the next day.
  5. We have been testing a new version of the message board and are getting ready to roll it out. One of the change will be that we will no longer have a separate username and display name. We are planning on consolidating to just use the loginname. If you want your loginname changed please drop me a PM and we can do that. The current plan is to roll out the new version Tuesday night (Jan 12 2016), please expect downtime during the upgrade. I will update this thread when the upgrade is done and issues can be reported to this thread or if you have issues posting to the thread after the upgrade you can e-mail webmaster@nspn.org. Thanks -Jason
  6. As things sit today, the content from the current forum can not be imported into Meetup. I don't know how it's envisioned. My guess is one of ~3 options. Using Meetup for trips and using the current site for the forum (Fracturing things). Moving everything to meetup and dropping the old forum/content. (Could be done but loses the history) Moving everything new to meetup and attempting to keep the history on the old forum. (Who would stick around to apply security updates / patches and work on the old site? Would the BOD pay for hosting and software support while also paying the meetup fees?). If the forum does move to meetup I don't see anything unique with NSPN, it will be another cookie cutter group that will have history going back to it's meetup establishment in 2016....
  7. How would moving trips to meetup help with the current website? It would see that if you want to split it up meetup and the website would have to be maintained. If your talking about dropping the forum and the history, that would drop the web site maintenance, but it would get rid of the forum history.
  8. Are the weekly Walden sessions done for the year?
  9. Are the lake sessions done for the year?
  10. It would seem productive to encourage a dialogue on the site before making a major switch. I think that Dan needs some feedback before he can reply to the survey.
  11. Great luck! You might talk with Suz about the updated Idol.
  12. Carl was on another segment of the video. I left it running, not paying much attention then I heard Carl's voice and I had to rewind it.
  13. Thanks for the heads-up as to Todd being on TV. I found it and plan on watching it: http://abcnews.go.com/US/woman-accused-death-fianc-york-kayak-murder-case/story?id=34976440
  14. I think that I used the windex trick to put it on. I know that I used the windex trick when I put the clear protector on my truck under where the roof racks attach to the truck. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/3M-Automotive/Aftermarket/Our-Brands/Scotchgard-Pro-Series/ I have paddle britches in the front: http://northwater.com/collections/paddle-leashes/products/paddlebritchesand then the bodyguard is under the paddle blade.
  15. I haven't had much luck with gel coat under 50F. Under 50F, it becomes an inside project. I have basement space and will help, if you are up for a trip north.
  16. I have had this on my boat since 2009: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00029XD7G It stays on really well, I can't say if it's something that removes when you want it to.
  17. If you have a Kokatat one you can send it back to them and they will test and fix it. If it's not you can get some goretext tape to fix it.
  18. That's great news, not an easy test! Congratulations!!
  19. It sounds like you had a great trip! I need to get back!
  20. That's one work of art! I wouldn't want to guess as to how many hours it took to make!
  21. Wow that's not good! I am glad you were around and were able to take care of the issue before it was much worse! When heading out I have it setup to turn off the power to the well pump. I am also looking to add a shutoff as my current setup still leaves a lot of water in the pressure tank that can still make a mess.
  22. I have had great luck with the Snap Dragon ones. http://www.outdoorplay.com/Snap-Dragon-Hot-Hands-Kayaking-Pogie I find that I have to push them to the center of the paddle for times to let my hands cool down or just use one alternating what had has the pogie. As for the winter camping it seems like an interesting idea.
  23. I am not sure when I will be down in MA next, I am now living in ME. If your willing to ship them can you call me 660-960-0070 or drop me an e-mail jason at kates D.T org we can figure out the cost and how I can get you a check or Paypal. Thanks -Jason
