  1. This kayak saw very little use and is in excellent shape with only a couple minor scratches. It has always been washed after use and always stored under cover and out of the elements. Has a good turn of speed, maneuverable and tracks well. The stock seat was replaced with a superior and more comfortable Kajak Sport seat. No leakage from the hatches. Has excellent reviews. It is located in the greater Manchester NH area. Mango deck, gray trim and white hull. I could not figure out how to attach my photos of it here so email me if you would like to see them at srkimball at Comcast dot net $2995 This is one thousand and five hundred dollars below retail. 17 ft. in length, 21 inches in width and 50 lbs. Cockpit Size: Length: 32.00" (81.28cm) Width: 16.50" (41.91cm)
  2. I recently learned about this new rack system out of Canada. Never seen one nor do I know anymore about them then what their web site shares and understand they will most likely come in cost wise at about what the Hullavators go for. https://mosracks.com/en/ ~Scott
  3. I couldn't get the Seacoast Online article to post with picture, but it was a full sized poly sea kayak, but no PFD or appropriate clothing though. One very lucky guy.

  5. Nice report Pru and even better pictures. Crossed paths with a few of you as we were staying at Old Quarry for a few days while paddling many of the same islands. ~Scott K
  6. Your trip report and photos were a treat to read and see. Great trip ... obviously.
  7. Nice read and great pictures. It was as great trips often are ....never quite on script, but always on target for a rich experience. Glad all from big weather to sickness made it come together for one of those great moments in Life.
  8. I have a couple bigger gel coat repairs to do. I've done small areas in the past applying it with a brush, but didn't know if anyone has used one of those aerisol sray units you can buy that run on a small pressurized can. Will it (does it) work and are they capapble of spraying Gel Coat or are they only good for something thinner like paint? Thanks. ~Scott
  9. Very, very nice. Thanks to all who were involved.
  10. Looking carefully at the radio and cradle, it seems like the cradles contact points are lower then the three points on the back of the radio for receiving the juice so when I stick the radio into the cradle it appears they are just missing each other for making the necessary contact. I don't get it as I know I've charged the battery in this unit before and preplexed as to what the issue is for not a proper fit/contact this time around. I'm certain the battery is okay, but after being in use for two different multiple day trips where battery and radio functioned fine, it just simply needs a charge. Electrics aren't my forte, but this one seems so simple yet I'm stumped.
  11. I have an older Standard Horizon HX270S that worked fine, had a good range for broadcasting & receiving, but I now can't get it to take a recharge. I did steel wool the terminals that the recharge's contact strips touch on the back of the rdio, but still can't get the recharger's light to come on and indicate a recharge is taking place. After two multi day trips, the battery is now dead, but wondered if anyone has a suggestion for getting it recharged. If I have to replace it, what are some of the solid bullet proof ones others would suggest. Interested in a solid build versus one with all the latest and greatest bells and whistles, plus don't want to break the bank. Thanks. ~Scott
  12. I found a new place called Soller Composites for purchasing hard to find fabrics for doing kayak repairs and keel strips. They have various sizes of tapes and weights of cloths both in carbon and fiberglass. More important they have Bi-Axis weave tape in both fiberglass and Carbon. Bi-Axis tape is so much easier to work with then your typical seamed edge tape in applications like doing a Keel Strip that I found it worth spending the few extra dollars. West Systems is the epoxy they carry. They are a little ways off I-93 in Franklin N.H. jorth of Concord N.H. They also Fed Ex or UPS. http://www.sollercomposites.com/
  13. "6. Let Scott do all the cooking" Leslie, only if you help me score a TV show called "The Kayak Kook"
  14. Mine ??? Pretty simple. Paddle up the coastline, down the coastline or way out into the waters, but always returning back to where I started ....... hopefully with the boat still intact. And anything good that happens in between, I will consider doggy treats for this old mongrel.
  15. Yes .... I've obviously have got to buy a longer boat or forever live as the butt of Neptune's jokes.
  16. On behalf of my beloved boat. I would like to privately speak to whom ever put that rock there off of Ogunquit Me. May the next Ice Age scour you to oblivion. Till then this moment of drama will be thought of as a tribute to one of Americas finest cereals.
  17. I'm telling you he wave was taller then my boat. Must have been two stories tall ... ask Glen. I didn't have a prayer ............ Well ....... maybe it was just my skill sets that were stuck in the day hatch ..........
  18. Thanks to all who put this together. And I have a nice "rock" to display for a year on my mantle.
  19. WHAT ...... NO MEAT ?????? I guess I better go back to my cave and put the fire out so I can save the wood for winter. Well I at least will get a hide out of it to re-skin my Kayak !
  20. I paddled it with a friend about a week and a half ago without having much of a problem with them and it was a hot day with little breeze. ~Scott
  21. All that is known is that there might have been a pair of them, it was a swimmer who spotted them and they may have only been about 6 ft. in length. There was no positive identification and some are suggesting sand sharks. Nobody really knows outside of the fact that they were spotted.
  22. Manchester NH's TV station has reported that there was a shark off of Rye Beach today. All swimmers in that area were pulled out of the water. Scott
  23. Well Lisa, I suppose if you do feel a little left out .... a Swiss Army knife could put some points onto either end of your "tube" ....... :-) Actually he did a beautiful job on your "Wahoo" and I'm guessing it will get you to where you want to go with the efficiency you are looking for once you have it completely dialed in. I admire craftsmanship and that boat has it. My camera has been in and out with its' efficiency (ordered a replacement) and I was quite disappointed in the shots of your boat that I wanted that might have given it visual justice, but they simply didn't come out. The camera also let me down on Doug's "rock's & roll " adventure that would have accented the "Frolic" theme of the day.
  24. Take 13 about to become Middle Age people, put them in funny tubes with points at either end and what do you get? Fun & Frolic. Apologies to Doug for my camera which has been going on and off the rocks of late didn't capture going on and off the rocks. ~Scott http://tinyurl.com/7cgyoao
  25. Packed the car, so I guess I have to go now. See you all in the morning. ~Scott
