This event repeats every week on Thursday for 16 occurrences

Come join us at Chebacco Lake in Hamilton on Thursdays at 5pm until sunset though the summer. Practice strokes, rolls, rescues, falling out of your boat, or just watching kingfishers.  Dress for immersion.  A wetsuit is warm enough in early season, and keeps down the bruises from climbing back into your boat ten times a night.
We meet at the boat ramp at the south end of the lake, and hang out in the cove to the left of the ramp. You can either get off 128 at Pine st (exit 16) and head north on the dirt road, or find Chebacco road off Rt 22 in Essex and avoid the dirt. No entrance fees. No rangers to kick us out at the end of the evening, but the mosquitoes do the job just fine.

This event repeats every week on Tuesday for 8 occurrences

If you are coming, please let others know by posting on the NSPN Trips forum - start a new forum post if you are the first one to RSVP for the week. You can always update your RSVP if your plans change. If the RSVP numbers are low, or weather looks poor, this event may be cancelled! Check the NSPN Trips forum on the day of the event, as there may be a discussion about changes or cancellation.
On Tuesday evenings throughout the summer, we'll get together in the Concord, MA area to paddle, practice, and socialize. Unless posted otherwise on the Trips forum, the main group will plan to set off from the boat launch area at Walden Pond (approximately 915 Walden St, Concord, MA) at 5PM each Tuesday. The gates close around 7:30PM, so we'll be off the water well before that happens. We sometimes gather for dinner afterwards - speak up a day or two before if you're interested in going out after the pond session.
If the weather is gorgeous and it looks like Walden will be over-crowded, we may decide to relocate to a nearby river or White's Pond. Again, check the Trips forum for any changes in plan.

Here's some boilerplate that will apply to all of our Tuesday sessions:
All sessions are open to any NSPN member in any watercraft. New members are especially welcome. PFDs and signed NSPN waivers are required. If you want to get on the water before the group launch at 5PM, let us know, bring a signed waiver, and leave it on your windshield for the rest of the group to sign when arriving. For Walden, we'll meet you at our usual spot at 5.

For anyone who hasn't been to Walden Pond before with the group, here's some detailed information that Bill Voss put together for last year's sessions, with addresses, parking fees, and a map of our usual practice area:

This event repeats every week until 08/28/2019

This series of paddles takes place on (surprise!) Wednesdays, and provides a midweek opportunity to paddle on a different day from the lake sessions. Most of the launches will be in the Salem Sound area, but can branch out to between Boston and Gloucester.
Here is a description of a typical Wednesday Lunch paddle:
Meet at launch at 10:00. Beach Briefing at 10:20. On the water and paddling at 10:30am. 1-1.5 hours of paddling to lunch location 1 hour of lunch, conversation, and relaxation 1-1.5 hours of paddling to return to launch Return around 3:00. These paddles are most appropriate for independent paddlers with ocean paddling experience.  The Wednesday paddles are cooperative adventures, not guided trips. Each participant is responsible for her/his own safety. Don’t assume the trip initiators are smarter, stronger, better at rough water, more attractive, or more skilled paddlers than you are. For more information, see this description of our trip philosophy from the NSPN web site.
Typically on the Monday before the trip, we will post specific information about the trip on the Trips Forum.  The post's message thread can be used for RSVPs and other questions concerning the specific trip.
If you haven’t paddled with one of us before, please get in touch with one us via private message before signing up. Before departing for the launch location, please consult your favorite sources to determine wind, tide, and sea conditions, so you are aware of the trip environment for that day.
Each week's venue will be selected taking expected conditions into account. In general, the trip will only be canceled for extreme conditions and thunderstorms.
We look forward to you joining us for an enjoyable day of paddling and picnicing! Please private message us with any questions you may have.
Your faithful trip organizers,
Joe  Berkovitz (profile)
Bob Levine (profile).

This Level-3-and-up trip will visit one of the most dramatic coastlines in the world, Maine's Bold Coast, the long weekend of Friday August 2 - Monday August 5. Ranging from Machias Bay to Lubec and beyond to Canada's Campobello Island, the Bold Coast is a largely undeveloped and wild region with lots of dramatic cliffs and rocks, 25+ foot tidal ranges, strong currents and quite unpredictable weather.
Organizers: Bob Levine (rylevine), Joseph Berkovitz
This trip is not for everyone. Please read all the information in the Trips forum posting before RSVPing to this trip. Thank you!
If the RSVP list is full, private message me -- we will maintain a wait list in case of cancellations.

PLEASE DO NOT RSVP ON NSPN CALENDAR UNTIL YOU HAVE SENT YOUR PAYMENT.
Come out and camp/paddle during prime time! Home Base will be Lobster Buoy Campsites in S. Thomaston, Maine, gathered at the Group Site. Arrive Friday, leave Sunday. Paddling options abound: NE to Owls Head, SE to Muscle Ridge, or SW to Port Clyde. These trips are not appropriate for beginners. Minimal skills to participate include wet exit, self and assisted rescue, and previous experience in ocean paddling with conditions of wind up to 15K, waves to 2 feet, and crossings up to 2.0M. Typical pot-luck Friday evening buffet (proper attire please) for those so inclined to participate. Saturday is often a “go into Town” for supper. This trip will be cross-posted to MITA/SMSKN/and NSK to encourage participation from friendly paddlers from all these groups. Rather than limit numbers from each group, I will set the limit to 15 FOR THE GROUP SITE ONLY. Your spot will be secured when I receive payment ($15 per nite) via paypal (gyorkattdsdotnet) or check (private message me).
PLEASE DO NOT RSVP ON NSPN CALENDAR UNTIL YOU HAVE SENT YOUR PAYMENT.
If you prefer, or if the group site fills to capacity, private sites may be reserved directly with Lobster Buoy Campsites @ 207.594.7546 after May 15.
