SeaKayakNE
Hey everyone so moving to Billerica MA this week and looking for some good spots to paddle. I'm Mostly paddling solo so not looking for any coastal water (unless you want to meetup). I also am interested in checking out the water in NH. Any recommendations? Just for reference I have been paddling 3 years now, mostly in the Hudson in a P&H Scorpio MV.
prudenceb
Jonathan, join NSPN (only $15) and go on trips with us! So much beautiful coastal water it would be a shame to not enjoy it what this neck of the woods has to offer!pru
rfolster
A more detailed description of your paddling experience would be helpful. Portsmouth harbor and the inner islands area are nice places to tool around, but stay out of the Piscataqa River and inside the breakwall until you get more familiar with the area and the associated challenges.Cathy and I used to live in Billerica, and now are not too far away in Tewksbury. Let me know if you want to get together sometime on land to chat or on water to paddle.
PeterB
Jonathan,If you look through several pages from the "Trip Reports" forum and also the "Trips/NSPN Events" forum on this message board, , you'll quickly get a feel for trips and local put-ins that work for kayakers in this area. . Names like Pavillion Beach/Ipswich, Lanes Cove/ Lockport, Tucks Point in Manchester, Odiorne in Rye NH (Portsmouth are) will pop up, in addition to put ins a bit farther away. SeaKayakNE
Pru, I'm on it, going to pay my dues tonight or tommorow morning! Looking forward to getting to know you all.BR: As far as my experience goes, as stated above I've been paddling the Hudson the past 3 years. Marshall from The River Connection has coached me on rescues/safety. My cowboy reentry is very solid and has been secessful in rather rough conditions. Solid with bracing and edging. My roll still has much to be desired but as I have been paddling solo since my wife has been injured I haven't been practicing. I enjoy rough conditions just haven't done any coastal waters. Done some surfing but it's mostly off the ocean barges coming up the Hudson. Out of curiosity where are you in Tewksbury? Living in Tewskbury for a few weeks till my apartment is ready. Id like to take you up on your offer of meeting up on land or water!

SeaKayakNE
After cruising around a bit yesterday and checking out the water near Hampton and Seabrook I'm seeing this might be one of my better options. Anyone have any suggestions about this area? Looks like a helmet might be a worthwhile investment any suggestions on that front?
