As usual beautiful pix Doug. But it's not fair ... the lead group didn't have a professional photographer along to document our many adventures.

Thanks for the company, all!

Conditions were, to use Pru's word, "sporty"! Wind had been f/c 270/5-10 G15 (NOAA); but the reality was more like 20kt. all the time! We had <some> time in the lee of the cape...

A fun and tiring day on the water.

Sporty indeed! May I never again believe a NOAA weather forecast!

But a fabulous day and many thanks to those - you know who you are - who helped me successfully reach the end of what was the longest and roughest paddle I've ever done. And "roughest" doesn't even include the hostile power boaters who would have been happy to run us over in Lane's Cove!

Congratulations, Pru on completing your marathon. Consider it your initiation to NSPN! Not all trips are so challenging, and you handled it like a trooper!

Love the "sporty" conditions term. I'll take surfing those 15-20 knot tailwinds and following seas any day. The 20 knot headwinds we faced for a good portion-not so much...

With sincere apologies to Shakespeare and Sir Christopher:

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers & sisters;
For he or she to-day that paddles with me round the Cape called Anne
Shall be my brother or sister; be he or she ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his or her condition;
And gentlemen or gentlewomen in Maine or New Hampshire now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods or womenhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That paddled with us upon this day before Labor Day.
