Nigel Foster Silhouette, built by Seaward in Canada. Has been out on trial and it seems it needs someone in the 125-175 range. Smaller works but boat is a little big. Opinions are that it is on the fast side, not as twisty as some for surf. Some are initially a little intimidated by the arc bottom, this is a boat that likes being on edge to turn fast. New cockpit rim in the rear has created bone dry compartments. Semi greenland rigging with foam seat and back rest. Hard seat available. Relatively lightly paddled. I have too many boats and have just refurbished my 78 Nordkapp SS and my old North Bay. Am doing retro rides. Boat is now in New Hampshire and I can get it into the Boston area pretty easily. Anyway at this moment the boat is at Ed Lawson's in New Hampshire. I may be headed to Newport RI Sunday and was planning to pick it up. It would be available for demo if someone else wants to try it this weekend, make the pick and connection with Ed.

It's a beautiful boat.

Indeed it is both in construction and appearance. A rocket ship that picks up waves easy, turns well when edged for an 18 footer, just right size for trips of around a week....a steal at the asking price. At 5' 10" and 175# it was a great fit.

Folks,

The Silhouette is still for sale. Ed gave it back to me, then I got distracted, so slid it into the boat shed for the winter. It is still as nice as it was last summer. Just need to find the right buyer. As I was last year, I am amenable to a real demo, and I get to Southern New England.
